Welcome, and thank you for visiting Peace Lutheran Church online. We hope that our website highlights the wide variety of worship, fellowship and service opportunities available. Please feel free to read more about our church on this site, or come in for a visit. We would love to greet you and share with you our love for Jesus Christ and for you, our neighbor.
Mission
Peace Lutheran Church is the gathering together of members and friends to proclaim the word of God, to witness to God's grace, and to be servants in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Vision Statement
Bringing God's Peace to the Peace by the power of the Holy Spirit!

The establishment of Lutheran Church and congregation in Fort St. John goes back to 1930. At that time, Pastor Peter Ellington was serving in the South Peace area and added Fort St. John to his schedule as he saw the need. The first formal service was held in 1945. The first resident Pastor was Pastor Osborne Olson who served from 1945 to 1951.
The church we are in currently, was built in October 1980. This Church is dedicated to the glory of God.
Looking back at the road traveled by the Peace Lutheran congregation since 1945, there have been several times when there appeared a fork in the road. Pastors and congregation contemplated which way to go. They sought God's guidance and will. God has honoured their commitment to Him.
On the 24th of February 2008, the BC Synod installed
Rev. Dr. Kebede F. Dibaba as a
Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church. He has been serving the congregation since then.

Scripture: “Now to Him who is able to
do immeasurably more than all we ask
or imagine…” — Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)
Dear Church Family,
As we step into a new year, our hearts
overflow with gratitude for God’s
abundant blessings. We have witnessed
His provision, His grace, and His
faithfulness time and again. Truly, God
has been good to us.
Yet Scripture reminds us that God’s
ability far exceeds our expectations.
What lies ahead is not limited by what
we have seen before. God is always at
work, often in ways beyond what we can
imagine or predict.
“May the Lord bless you and keep
you; may His face shine upon you
and be gracious to you; the Lord turn
His face toward you and give you
peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26

Gracious God .......thank You for this past year of 2025, which was full of Your blessings and love for us and Your mercies were new every morning. Thank You for walking with us through our valleys of pain and the joys of our mountain top experiences.
Lord God,
As we begin our journey through 2026,
Help us to cherish the bread before there is none.
Help us to discover each other before we leave.
Help us to enjoy each other for what we are while we have time.
And please help us to always keep focused on You, the all knowing, everywhere present and all powerful God.
Father God,
We complain about the rose bush with thorns,
But help us to be thankful for the thorn bush that has roses.
Light of the world.
As the Wise Men followed the light of the Star.
Help us to follow You, The Light of the world.
We pray for all Christians in Canada that we would have the freedom to worship You and express our Christian faith in You. We pray for strength and perseverance for those who are being persecuted and wrongfully imprisoned.
We pray for comfort and strength and wisdom for their families and friends.
We pray for our PLC Council and all its Boards, for the Refugee Committee, Mutual Ministry Committee, our Sunday School Students and Teachers, the Confirmation Class and all the opportunities for Bible Studies.. We pray for the Janitor and all who are involved in Ministry here at PLC, those who are known and those who are unknown. We also pray for those who help with Sunday morning Worship and Fellowship after Church. We give you thanks Lord, for the many ways you have gifted people to serve You. May
You be honored and glorified in the ministries here at Peace Lutheran Church and the outreach to our Community and beyond.
We pray for our world and all leaders. May Your Word continue to penetrate further and further into this world of darkness, changing evil hearts into hearts of love and compassion.
We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, AMEN
