Mission
Peace Lutheran Church is the gathering together of members and friends to proclaim the word of God, to witness to God's grace, and to be servants in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Vision Statement
Bringing God's Peace to the Peace by the power of the Holy Spirit!

The establishment of Lutheran Church and congregation in Fort St. John goes back to 1930. At that time, Pastor Peter Ellington was serving in the South Peace area and added Fort St. John to his schedule as he saw the need. The first formal service was held in 1945. The first resident Pastor was Pastor Osborne Olson who served from 1945 to 1951.
The church we are in currently, was built in October 1980. This Church is dedicated to the glory of God.
Looking back at the road traveled by the Peace Lutheran congregation since 1945, there have been several times when there appeared a fork in the road. Pastors and congregation contemplated which way to go. They sought God's guidance and will. God has honoured their commitment to Him.
On the 24th of February 2008, the BC Synod installed
Rev. Dr. Kebede F. Dibaba as a
Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church. He has been serving the congregation since then.

Scripture: “Now to Him who is able to
do immeasurably more than all we ask
or imagine…” — Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)
Dear Church Family,
As we step into a new year, our hearts
overflow with gratitude for God’s
abundant blessings. We have witnessed
His provision, His grace, and His
faithfulness time and again. Truly, God
has been good to us.
Yet Scripture reminds us that God’s
ability far exceeds our expectations.
What lies ahead is not limited by what
we have seen before. God is always at
work, often in ways beyond what we can
imagine or predict.
“May the Lord bless you and keep
you; may His face shine upon you
and be gracious to you; the Lord turn
His face toward you and give you
peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26

PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH PRAYER BASKET APRIL 2026
In July 2019 our congregation spent a day at Steve and Virginia Haab's property.
We participated in a series of skits called “Walking with Jesus”.
I call this photo The Cross before me, The World behind me.
As Good Friday approaches and we plan to celebrate Easter LET US PRAY. We will use Jesus” Seven Last words on the Cross. Gathered from the four gospels,we hear Jesus speaking to God, to his mother, to his disciples, to a penitent thief – and to us.
1. “FATHER FORGIVE THEM, THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.”
O Lord Jesus, we don't know what we are doing so many times, hurting others, hiding our faults and demanding our own way. Please forgive us. Thank You Lord.
We choose now to forgive all those who have sinned against us. We name them before you.................
2. “I SAY TO YOU TODAY, YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.”
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” the thief whispered.
We too plead with you to remember us.
Thank you Jesus for your precious blood that frees us. Glory to You O Lord.
3. “WOMAN BEHOLD YOUR SON.” “ BEHOLD, YOUR MOTHER.”
Jesus you loved your mother. Your provided for her needs. Jesus help us follow your example to love our family and neighbours. We name them before you. ...............
4. “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?”
Thank you Jesus for humbling yourself to such suffering – for us-.
Help us humble ourselves for our neighbours, strangers and enemies.
We name them before you. ...........
5. “I THIRST.”
Of course Jesus was thirsty after hours of torture.
Deeper yet he was thirsting for the salvation of all creation.
What are you thirsting for today? ......................
What is your neighbour thirsting for? ...................
6. “IT IS FINISHED.”
A victory cry! The price has been paid. Hallelujah!
Our Hope is secure - On the Last Day – no death, no sorrow, no crying , no pain.
We praise you now Jesus Our Lord and Saviour.
7. “FATHER, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT.”
O Lord, in the crushing disappointments of life,WE PRAY
Into your hands I commend my spirit and all for whom I pray.
AMEN
COME LORD JESUS COME
